Since there's already talk of a fifth generation, I've been wondering if the 2017 movie might close out G4.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe The Toy Company confirmed that there's gonna be another 5 seasons of FiM.
I'm not so sure about this. This would be the top headline on The Glue Factory Daily and would be all over Fimfiction if it were true, and I haven't heard anything like this. :)

Actually, they confirmed the toyline for another 5 years. Well, they did in 2014. So FiM toys will be around until at least 2019, although it may actually be 2020.

That doesn't necessarily mean the show will run that long, but it's a possibility.

I heard about that a while back. I'm calling it now; Generation 4 ends with the movie. If it doesn't, then...well let's just hope fatigue won't start to affect it. We wouldn't want to have a Spongebob or a Simpsons situation on our hands now.

Best pony is Party Hoers, evidently. (The others are great too, but... yeah, I mean, Party Hoers man.)
Best background pony is Vinyl, not because of her personality, but because of the box the fandom's wedged the creators into. "We can't acknowledge the fandom for legal reasons! But if we don't get nowacking to voice vinyl everyone will be angry! What do we do!?" "Just have her drink milk and listen to loud music!" "GOOD ENOUGH"
And why would I not be excited for season 6. It's season 6! Nobody thought season 5 could be better then season 4. It was. (arguably) Nobody thinks season 6 can be better than season 5. Can it? ANYBODY'S GUESS.

I've kind of been debating with myself if I'm still a Brony or not. I joined around late 2012. Watched and loved the show, enjoyed a lot from the fandom and was always up to date on everything. Now, while the show is still pretty good, I don't find myself as invested as I once was and not a lot from the fandom has helped rekindle the burning passion I used to have (though the Lullaby for a Princess animation was fan-freaking-tastic). Jeez I sound old. Ironically, I'm probably younger that a lot of you. Anyway, enough blab!

Favorite Mane 6: Rarara. Best Horse will always be Fashion Horse with Bookworm Hoers in 2nd place. Rarara because we always see her commit to "the struggle". She has a goal and we see her deal with everything that a creative has to endure in order to strive and accomplish that goal. She has to deal with criticism, rejection, betrayal, high standards, competition, dead lines, etc, all while constantly improving her craft and she has a burning passion for what she does. We see her have fun and be creative while also seeing her fail and try to recover while battling everything around her. A lot of people see her as this prissy diva who complains a lot. I see a striving creative who refuses to back down and loves what she does. People get tired of seeing Rarara always working on dresses in her episodes but I feel that seeing as it is her job and hobby, it emphasizes what I stated before. That we always see her putting in 110% 100% of the time to accomplish her dreams. Hell, I'm not even creative and I love this character.

Favorite CMC: Sweetie Belle. I like her more because she I'm honestly not a fan of the orange one and probably because she has more of a realistic "sisterly bond" with Rarara than AB has with AJ in my opinion as a big brother to a younger sister myself.

Favorite Background: Octavia. A cool mocha pony with a calm demeanor plucking away at her cello wearing a bow tie. Always had an affinity towards the more "professional" side Octavia brings compared to the "loud" side Vinyl does.

My god, did you really just read all of this? I'm not sure whos crazier, me or you? You deserve a cookie. Believe hard enough and *poof* it'll appear, trust me.

Haha, I've always liked calling Dress Horse an assortment of clothing related names.
Uh, no. I'm not magic. I've been found out! *throws down smoke and vanishes*

Fav from 6: Between Rarara and Background Orange. I think both of them the most down to earth, no pun intended.
Fav outside 6: Luna.
Fav background: Derpy.

And I began to dislike most of the chapters since the 3rd season (I dunno, for me it lost some spark that the first and second season had). For me the ideal end of the series was when Bookworm Hoers became Twilicorn.

But if the show had ended at season 3, we wouldn't have gotten the Weird Al episode, aka one of the best episodes.

It's funny. I spend so much time talking about Lawyer Friendly Equines on the Bronies fan group that I manage on Facebook that I actually can't think of much else to say elsewhere.

Other than that Octavia and Vinyl Scratch are, and will always remain, best ponies.

It's been a hot minute since I watched the show, but I did see the last season finale. My favorite is still Background Orange with Bookworm Hoers right with her since their both (usually) reasonable individuals. I didn't even bother watching the last Lawyer Friendly Hominids movie, it just looked unappealing and full of nothing. Honestly i'm not as into it as I was, but the show still holds up fine.

If you enjoyed Rainbow Rocks, you'd probably enjoy the third Lawyer Friendly Hominids. I wouldn't say it's required watching by any means though.

So my most favourite pony, most favourite background pony and waifuu~ is none than The Great and Powerful Trixie! :3

In a nutshell:
I couldn't enjoy the show after second season
Reformed Discord is just big NO.
I hate Bookworm Hoers becoming an alicorn.
Sombra and Tirek were lame...
For that Rainbow laser of friendship and transformation I have no words...
Starlight Glimmer? Ugh... So much pain...
The recent spoilers? Even wrose...
And I'm not even mentioning Lawyer Friendly Hominids...

So I have set my anchors at FimFiction year ago and I can't complain. I'm satisfied there.

Oh, I'm the exact opposite. Season 3 is actually one of my favorite seasons, and I think they've been getting stronger every year. I'm liking the spoilers too.

Anyway, Dashie's best pone. No question about it.

I actually started watching the show after watching the first LAUREN SMASH!!! Movie, so I can't really get behind the argument that people who watched the show before that make that they can't get behind the changes to the show after that but I can see how the change can be jarring to people who got used to Bookworm Hoers being a Unicorn. My favorite character overall is Sunset Shimmer although when it comes to my favorite mane 6 character (although I'm worried Starlight Glimmer might become a 7th) it usually changes depending on what episode I'm watching, at the moment I'm working on a review of Simple Ways so Applejewel is my fave. :)

Reminds me I had a combo of three reasons that made me unhappy with The Toy Company to the point of considering "eh, maybe it's time to get off this ride" in early 2013. There was the C&D of Fighting is Magic, an upcoming movie with humanised ponies in high school, and Bookworm Hoers becoming an alicorn.

In the end Mane6 continued works on their reimagined fighting game, LAUREN SMASH!!! turned out to be a movie and series I thoroughly enjoyed, and Bookworm Hoers becoming an alicorn- ...oh right, I still haven't forgiven that one. [shakes fist]

I actually like Twi as an alicorn. It's certainly helping to add depth to her character.
In that case maybe they should make Timid Ferovore Hoers an alicorn. OHHHH!

I jest. I like Yellow Quiet just as she is.

Didn't like the ascension to alicornhood as I found it elevated Bookworm Hoers too much, disrupting a balance of sorts. Sure, she was always more protagonist-y than others, but it was still a show about 6 friends, rather a show about one princess and her five non-princess friends.

On a personal side, I found I could relate to Bookworm Hoers in this or that way. Sadly changed/shifted along with the princesshood as her status, themes and struggles also took a different direction, so I was somewhat unhappy that happened.

Lastly, it put an end of a nice symmetry of "2 unicorns + 2 pegasi + 2 earth ponies" among the mane six. This changed seemed the most unnecessary, as plot-wise just about everything could continue in following seasons like it did without the alicornication (even more so after seeing Starlight Glimmer fly with magic like it's no big deal).

Felt rather strongly that the "we want to sell this toy" came first and the change in the show was merely an effect rather than a cause. While Lawyer Friendly Equines was always an excuse to sell merchandise, the first two seasons managed to hide it quite tastefully, whereas here it left a bad aftertaste when it was this obvious.

(It's past midnight, I gotta wake up in 6 hours and I'm complaining online about a 3 year old change to a cartoon horse. There's a point where you realise you're beyond rescue and just enjoy the ride)

I can't decide between Bookworm Hoers and AJ for favorite mane pony. I really like both of them. As for background pony I'd say Vinyl.

My favorite episode is Leap of Faith, I know it's not that popular, but I really liked the message of doing the right thing even though is hard. That episode is also one of the main reasons Background Orange is one of my favorite characters.

Favorite song is The Pony I Wanna Be, the feelz.

And finally, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SEASON 6

Okay, I hope I don't bring a bunch of contention into this thread, but I'm curious: Would you guys be opposed to any sort of crossover between the main show and Lawyer Friendly Hominids? I mainly ask this because Sunset is my favorite overall, but I feel like there's some interesting concepts that could at least be brought up in the actual show (i.e. Sunset's backstory in The Glue Factory, the Sirens, etc.).

I know that a lot of people don't like Lawyer Friendly Hominids, but I'm still curious to hear some thoughts. Personally, I don't really mind the movies (and I actually liked Rainbow Rocks a lot), so I wouldn't mind at least a little bit of reference to them in the show.

I would be fine with a bit of crossover. I feel like they missed an opportunity by not having Starlight's prodigious, sun-themed childhood unicorn friend be Sunset.

I remember seeing a picture where someone photoshopped that scenario. I just thought to myself, "Huh, well that would have been awesome."

I remember not really minding LAUREN SMASH!!! much, I just tried to go into as neutral as possible and I think it was fairly good. I only saw the first though, never really got to watching the other two, so I'm not really that aware of what her story is.

It wouldn't really bother me if stuff from the movies became relevant in the main series, but I get the feeling they want there to be a certain novelty to them? Like, they want to keep them separate just so that Lawyer Friendly Hominids has elements specific to itself. So I don't necessarily expect it.

And Starlight and Sunset would be appropriate from a naming convention aspect atleast.

Personally i think that only Sunset should crossover, and there has already been a backstory on the Sirens with the Lawyer Friendly Equines IDW comics with the fiendship is magic series (the whole series is great, especially the Sombra one), and yes i would love to know more about Sunsets background in the show than it being shown in another Lawyer Friendly Hominids movie

Whenever I see people reference the comics, I'm reminded of how many Fringe references make it into those things. I recall Sunset reading a book called The First Ponies in the 2013 Annual that dealt with her backstory. The best, though, is that blatant September quote by the Observer pony in the story about the mirror world.

I have a feeling a lot of people aren't going to know what I'm talking about, so I'll just say: Go watch Fringe.

I'm really not a fan of the comics myself. They were good up through that one book worm arc, but past that they've been really bad outside of a couple exceptions.

I grabbed the comics that were available in that one Humble Bundle, but outside of those I haven't really given them a look. Dunno, I guess I never really had a big interest in them.
