Hello! My goodness it’s been a while. Wow look at you! Have you lost/gained weight? No? Well, it suits you! Some people can’t pull that look off but you make it work. Lose the hat though.


First off, we have to apologise for the delay. Again. We’ve apologised a few times now, we know. It’s no easier to apologise this time. We know that delays are not a positive thing for you all to hear but it’s better than the nothing that we’ve been saying for the past month. We need to make sure we continue to fulfil our responsibility to you and feel that we’ve been failing in that.


So, for many reasons, Feb 2018 will be when everyone can buy and play TFH. Why has it taken so long? Mainly resourcing. Which is a PR way of saying: Jay causing bottlenecks by having way less time-on-product than was needed, team members who we thought would be working on certain parts have had to work on other parts while still needing to work on the first parts, something very scary about accountants, the personal lives having hiccups, managing the closed beta. Many things.

Happenings:

Closed beta!

The closed beta is happening! The closed beta has been INCREDIBLY valuable, more so than we predicted. That’s PR speak for boy oh boy did people find lots of things they wanted to change/fix that we also wanted to change/fix. So we got to change/fixing them. If you were part of the closed beta, know that you made the game better.

Updates!

We’ve had a bit of a dry spell for the past… *checks watch* month due to the issues listed above. We’re also working on some items that are very “all or nothing” in terms of release (ie: story mode). Never fear though, we will be returning to regular technical and gameplay updates soon. Not Soon™, but just regular old ‘soon’. Very soon as a matter of fact. We’re working on polishing all the existing features in the game to make the play experience as smooth as possible.

Voices!

We recorded voices for all our characters! With help from our Voice Director, the talented Cristina Vee. This was another new process for all of us and Cristina was very patient with us and made it as easy is it could be given the circumstances. More details soon.

For business as usual we’ve been adding and refining features to the game. It’s going to be a blast to play and we can’t wait for everyone to get the chance. For the backers, stay turned into our worklogs for updates on how production is going.


We’ll talk more soon!

In a weird way.... I'm gonna miss the characters being mute. There's just something about them being mute that makes them appealing.
I guess your mind fills in the blank on what they would say and kind of makes it more unique? It also adds a sort of Loony Tunes factor to it I think, especially for Paprika.

I wonder what they'll sound like.

I mean, I have a decent idea on Velvet, accent wise at least. I hope they all sound unique and not close to their counterparts from the old project.

Hopefully they add a mode where they sound like actual animals, only problem would be to find sounds for Tian.

Some people tend to like blank characters because they can be anything you want them to be. If I remember correctly, Doomguy had no name because it was supposed to be a projection of the player.

Nice to get a big tastums update. Honestly, I saw the delay coming. Game development is hard and there's so few of you already. Plus getting all the voice work done couldn't have been a short process. But now it's done! And you can polish up the game for a few more months while we're playing Xenoblade or something.

Thanks for getting this out, fresh in time for December 1st. Really eager to hear what the girls sound like.

Nice to get a big tastums update. Honestly, I saw the delay coming. Game development is hard and there's so few of you already. Plus getting all the voice work done couldn't have been a short process. But now it's done! And you can polish up the game for a few more months while we're playing Xenoblade or something.

Fighting game wise, this is it for me, baring a surprise switch smash port with more characters popping up randomly this month. lol

Can't say I'm surprised, but all that means is that I'm not disappointed. Even without your track record, saying "The game is going to be done by the end of the year" 3 months before 2018 with that much unfinished is cause for skepticism. Don't feel bad though, it's endearing.

Looking forward to voices, obviously, but also cardboard removal. Finally I'll be able to tell if Tianhuo is actually that hard to block or if the ambiguous animations are tripping me up.
Or I'm just bad, more than possible.

Any plans for a youtube presentation of voices, or just wait until they get added to the game?

Higher chances say you're bad, but 90% of the time, Tian switches from low to high immediately if you're playing on challenging or above.

Considering she's a Chinese mythological creature and her name is Chinese and she's from a town that's Chinese, yeah, I'd imagine that's a safe bet. :D

I wonder if Velvet will keep the written accent that Lauren gave her.

great update Mane6 team! sorry that we get a bit.. impatient sometimes... maybe allot. but the delay's will have been worth it. I CANNOT wait to play your game, in a patient kind of way. :aricool:

I'm actually kind of happy that it isn't coming out this month, the last thing I need is a new game to take up all of my focus after next week when finals roll around.
