I'm not much of a shipper but I can't help but consider Oleander X Velvet, they're both magic users (mixing Dark and Ice magic could be... interesting) and quite stylish. They could be fabulous together.

I think we need to know more about their personalities and how they interact with each other in the story mode before we start... speculating on the nature of these character's romantic relationships with each other.... (God, I hate that word "shipping".) I'd like to see who Oleander gets along with... She's the sexy one.
No! Absolutely not. Did you ever play the Splatterhouse games? Fred seems like the Terror Mask. Pretending to be your friend and offering you help (through power) with your goal, while manipulating and corrupting you and conspiring behind the scenes for his own agenda. Oleander doesn't know! They don't have the Splatterhouse games in Foenum!

My only real ship is a crossover one: Keldeo (Pokemon) and Oleander.
I have absolutely no idea how I thought that one up, but I like the theme: the knight and the dark mage.

We can't ship them. This is a talking animal universe. Only the plant eaters are "people". Carnivores are monsters. That's how it always works.
Not according to Lauren in one of the streams. In the stream she said the Foenecians only demonized the predators, I mean, are you not supposed to defend yourself against something trying to eat you? But Lauren stated that the predators aren't mindless savages, they are intelligent and just so happen to be required to eat other sentient creatures due to their biology.
Edit: Oct 10 stream, part one, 22:58. Praise be upon Stunthead for the timestamps. I mean, I don't know if you could ever ship an ungulate with a predator, but there could definitely be some predator-predator shipping.
Well, according to the Lore, sheepdogs live off of rats and rabbits, "pests", who apparently aren't sentient. So if there's non-sentient creatures on Foenum, then why would the predators choose to eat the ones talking and begging not to be eaten? Doesn't sounds very intelligent to me. I know that if I had the choice between eating an animal that was just an animal and eating an animal crying and telling me it has a wife and kids, I'd probably just have rabbit for dinner, no matter how delicious hamburgers are.
I know the story is still up in the air, but with what we have now I would assume predators can talk, but are driven by some animalist urge that can over-ride any "Hey, maybe I shouldn't eat this guy" rational thoughts. Just like every other talking-animal universe ever. Predators are dicks.
Dicks they may be, but once you hit a certain size threshold like lions, bears, and crocodiles, small prey can only go so far and there are only so many of them. When you are that large you need to eat a LOT of food every day to survive, and only preying on small, non-sapient prey is difficult not only because you are not developed in such a way that lets you catch them easily, but also if you eat the amount you need to survive only on those prey sources you will drive them to extinction. And the list of large prey that is non-ungulate is, surprisingly, now that I think about it, rather small. People make desperate actions when they are backed into corners, lie, steal, and even kill, and any predator who is unwilling to eat ungulates is going to starve to death while those who are willing to will live, grow up, and teach their kids that hunting ungulates is okay. It isn't impossible to imagine a starving predator on the brink of death thinking "Either he lives, or I live. Why should it be him? I have a family too."
I kind of agree with this... and also there's the fact that Foenum (especially when the banishment happened) is rather backward technologically, which means it would have been rather difficult AT BEST to grow the unthinking animals for food. And on top of that, a person who can only eat plants is likely to think unreasonably when it sees a creature that can only eat other creatures, especially if there's a truth to some of them eating ungulates. I approve of predator and ungulate shipping, we gotta break down those predator stereotypes people!

It's lucky that Honored Mother was the dragon and not the Horse. If the mother was the Horse and the father was the Dragon... ouch.
While I'm on the thought, how is it that the entire Longma race was able to come from a single mother and father? How did they avoid becoming inbred? Maybe Longma can breed with regular horses and Longma-ism is Dominant. Then after a long, long time there was enough genetic mileage between all the little dragon horsies that they were able to safely make sweet whinny together without it being creepy. You can have that one for free, Lauren.
I think I've been distracted from this thread's original purpose... I'm going to board the Anu train and ship Oleander with Fred. Also, I like to think The Empress and Tianhuo have a thing for each other. I know there's a few people who like to put Velvet in gay ships, but she's already been Ship Teased with The Blitz, so I'm going to throw the poor guy a bone and say he has a chance.
Man, now I really like the idea of the Longma as, like, a watered down breed. Like, the current longma are longma after hundreds of years of breeding with horses washed out the draconic blood until they reached a stable population where the draconic blood remained constant. Like, now I have this image in my head of the first longma being this alpha longma who was this Herculean hero with incredible power. I could dig that.

You seem to be neglecting the fact that, much as people may be opposed to the thought, the concept of incest is entirely developed by humans through the development of ethics. After all, while it may not seem like it to us humans due to our sheer population size, the avoidance of in-breeding is actually detrimental to the procreation of a species as a whole. As far as Fœnum is concerned, it's entirely possible that certain species don't worry with the same trifles we have in our human ethical code, and are more worried and focused on their races' survival.
In addition, while it is getting a bit close to the line by bringing up the subject, I feel it is worth mentioning that in most Christian religions, the beginning of man from Adam & Eve was rife with inbreeding for multiple generations. It's not something focused on too closely now that our morals and ethics frown more heavily on inbreeding, but it's worth bringing up, as it's possible that the beginning of the Longma race from "Honored Mother and Father" are thought of in a very similar light.
