I suggest something like a hidden attack for the characters, like Pom suddenly expanding her wool out in all directions, curls into a ball and has her pups launch her at a opponent, in which the static charge zaps the foe with maximum voltage. Kinda like this: Woolly sheep Shaun
Or Paprika getting out her pickax from her fur and slamming it into the ground with her unusual strength, causing a massive rockslide of boulders to come down the screen, each dealing decent damage. Then her pouncing happily on top once a hit occurs, cratering the area along with her opponent in a shower of hearts that erupt from it.
Also, open world exploration other than being stuck in the towns would be nice, as well as plenty of extra dialogue with the NPCs that changes as time passes in the game. Probably need a currency system as well given those herbivores probably have different ideas on how to pay for items and trading them, like gold, coins, on tab, etc. And of course, there should be guilds devoted to the cause of either helping or hindering the champions, selling them items or working to sabotage their fights so their opponent wins instead.
