I can already see at least a few people around here play at least from time to time and I don't believe we have a thread for it yet. So!

Who around here plays Minecraft? Anyone got some good servers? Mods? Resource packs? Maybe some favourite ungulate-themed builds here or there?

Minecraft is great, only problem at the moment is I've crammed so many mods into it that my game crashes the moment I try to deal damage to anything. Should be able to untangle it with a little patience but I've yet to actually bolt myself in place long enough to do it. I'll get it sorted eventually!

It's been awhile since I've played Minecraft. I've tried mods for it, but I prefer the vanilla version. As for servers? I remember one a few years ago that had character classes. A Tank blocking in full Diamond armor could shrug off a Charged Creeper blast at point blank.

Minecraft huh... The good old days... Vanilla stopped being fun once mods rolled and and I used to dabble with redstone a lot back in the day (didn't make any creative or innovative thing anyways lol.
But yeah, I used to play the hell out of that game.

I usually play vanilla Minecraft. Most of the time the mods I install start glitching and causing problems. Plus I like staying with the current versions of MC and the mods usually can't keep up so I've just stopped using them altogether! I usually don't use resource packs, either, but I decided to start using the OzoCraft resource pack and I'm starting to really like it so far!

This weekend I started playing mod pack called Simply Magic on one public server, It's quite nice and balanced pack focused on magic mods. It's also quite light so you don't need super computer to run it, and it's good for servers. The biggest reason why this pack got my attention is because there aren't any super OP mods. Like TiC + Iguana or ProjectE. But you can still be very powerful. With Ars Magicka, Witchery, Thaumcraft and blood magic you can do pretty crazy stuff. And second biggest reason: Thaumcraft horizonts & Forbidden magic. I'm huuuge fan of Thaumcraft and these mod adds soo much awesome stuff, they are definitely worth of trying...

I played for a long time on a economic server until they started to added more and more PvP things, I only used a Minimap mod for a while.

But know I just play a little Vanilla Mincraft in Singelplayer.:)

Btw. did they change something on the Enderman AI with the last update? They behave creepier than usual.

I haven't played it in a while, but I'd estimate I have well over 100 hours of playtime. I've put a fair few videos up on Youtube as well (mostly focusing on hidden entrances stuff or building projects). I usually use a high res texture pack (LB Photorealism, Faerielights, and more recently someone took over LB Photorealism). I have yet to get to the point of fighting the Ender Dragon actually.

Might start playing again when I get my next computer, as this one is getting less stable as time goes on.

Minecraft....Sure I get the urge to play every 3-5 months, the hard part is finding people to play on a server with. I need to rebuild my 4:1 scale mega pony wool statue back in 1.7.0 when horses were introduced I used the "Pony Mod" to change my playermodel and decided to cap my castle with a statue of my skin thus I had to dye and farm over 1000+ wool blocks to make the pixel matched (hollow) statue on a friend's vanilla survival server.

I'm a bit of a FTB fan these days leaning towards packs with Immersive Engineering and Botania included.

I'm in if a server pops up :) (After typing this I realized what I'd picked for my avatar (durp))

I used to use that Pony mod a few years back (MineLittlePony, right?). It was pretty neat. Used to visit Brohoof every so often too.

Yeah, this was back before it was called MineLittlePony, the name change was about a week after we shut down our MC server, I still have the world file and a map render of it. (somewhere around here...)
I should post a pic sometime :D

It had a different name at one point? Thought it had been by that name since late 2011.

Nice, do you use Cruse launcher or do you still use FTB one?

And yeah, Botania is awesome mod. How far have you get into it?
I hope you will enjoy these two... :)

I have been playing Minecraft on and off since the Alpha days, toyed around with mods but mostly stick to vanilla. If anyone is interested I do run a whitelisted Minecraft 1.9 snapshot server on my dedicated server, it is rather dead most of the time but is running 24/7

Well I still use the FTB one since I've never really needed anything else, as for Botania, I fought the gaia guardian back when he only had one "level" of battle and I crafted a flugal tiara to fly when it was one of the highest items to craft, I haven't done much with it since the sparks auguments and red thread and the item network had been introduced I did make a wood plank - mana- RF power plant in the last server I was on, but it was just a proof of concept.

I remember playing the game quite a bit in 2011. I never played mods, and still don't. The game is something I come back to once every few months, to do stuff in. Otherwise, the only other times I play it are with my siblings.

I do a bit of factions on 'TheArchon' server...mostly mining and tunneling and breaking into abandoned bases and robbing whatever they have left. Other times, I end up getting set aflame by pockets of lava in front of me or get buried by falling gravel/sand. I believe the Fushia faction on TheArchon allows the use of magic, depending on if you pay for or take a wand from someone. No mods needed for TheArchon in any case, and it's populated by youtubers. Or for mc-warz either, since it's a multiplayer wargame in which you build fortresses to guard gold blocks. If all your blocks are destroyed by mining picks, the other team wins and vice versa.

The only thing I never liked on Minecraft was that you don't have a minimap except you use a Mod, and that you want to have a map, you have to craft one as a Item in a rather complicated way. =/
