Currently hiring: 2D (Pixel) Artist Mane6’s Art Team is growing! We’re currently seeking a 2D “pixel” artist to join our team in the creation of various assets, including backgrounds, tilework and object/character pixel-art animation for “Them’s Fightin’ Herds”. You will be producing character and environment pixel art for the story mode and for the game’s “pixel lobby” overworld. This is a contracted, full time job opportunity working remotely, based on a California time (PT) timezone schedule. Job Responsibilities Create illustrative environmental tilesets for story and pixel lobby features. This includes sources of water and varied architecture. Low frame animation might be required. Assets are based using a 32×32 grid. No palette limitations, but keeping color count low per asset. Create character art with simple, low frame animation for story and pixel lobby features. Create cosmetic props (hats, character accessories, etc.) for story and pixel lobby features. Create pixel-art particles and other SFX for use in story and pixel lobby features. Create pixel-art icons and other User Interface objects and elements. Balance quality and production speed to meet weekly deadlines for new content updates. Quickly iterate on assets based on production team feebdack. Requisites & Qualifications At least 4 years experience with 2D art software (Photoshop preferred) At least 1 year experience creating pixel art and pixel animation. At least 1 year of experience working in the field of game development. Bonus Qualifications Big bonus! – Excellent understanding of game development pipelines, particularly familiarity with the needs and mechanics of a fighting game. Experience with general art/animation software (Flash/Animate CC/Blender) Experience with Spriter Previous work on a shipped commercial game title.
