Oh boy, really old childhood memories of playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and of course Super Smash Bros Melee with my family. They were the only video games my parents ever had the motivation to play with my and my brother back then. Lots of nostalgia all around.

Also got to play Windwaker, Luigi's Mansion and a bunch of other random games I can't recall.

My most favorite game of all time though had to be Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door. I think I've replayed it 4 times by now. I can remember when I was little my first run was me just upgrading HP the almost whole time I had leveled up. Had like 130 hp while taking me 8 tries to beat the final boss. Geez, I was pretty bad back then XD. Kind of makes me want to start another run, but I have no idea where my old GameCube is now.

I rewatched the intro sequence for Melee after it was brought up in the recent work stream. It's still amazing.

Now that I'm trying to think of fun Gamecube memories, I'm sad again that we haven't had a new F-Zero since GX/AX. I never did finish the story in GX. That last race is impossibru. The rest of the game is great fun though.

I actually pulled my Gamecube out of storage just a few months ago after acquiring a Gameboy Player. Used it for Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls to kick off the FF marathon I've mentioned in other topics. Once I make myself finish FFIII DS, I will return to it for IV through VI.

I still have my gamecube. The reset button is jammed though, so it's a pain to have to always restart a game if something goes wrong.

As for games, I never had a really big library (as a kid, I wasn't much for collecting games, I just played what I had to the extreme), but I do have a few noteworthy games, such as Smash Broes Melee, Pokemon Colosseum, Super Mario Strikers, and even Mario Baseball. I don't have any of the heavy hitters like Wind Waker or Super Mario Sunshine though.

To this day I think about taking it out to play again here and there, but haven't really done so cause then it'd be a hassle to switch consoles back and forth (barely have any room under my TV)

MY GC is still functional and in perfect condition (Being a collector and all)

Loved playing Mario Kart double dash (Some times still do) and Smash on it however there were some great games on it.

I have most of the big games on GameCube and almost 100 games in total, I love collecting GameCube games.

I wouldn't say my GameCube is in perfect condition, but it's pretty good.

Aww yes!! Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Custom Robo, Tales of Symphonia, many others; the Gamecube was my favorite system for several years, even after we got a PS3!

I was glad the Wii could play Gamecube games :0... Hopefully we'll see a couple on the eShop on the next Nintendo console..

Buh this game dissapointed me so much, the total lack of a story and the fact that it's actively a pain to play single player kinda killed it to me (not to mention to play multiplayer you needed a bunch of GBA link cables made playing co-op harder - it was like Zelda: Four Swords, you were lucky if you had enough friends to be able to play it properly).

The Gamecube had a comparatively smaller library than it's competitor the PS2 but it had so many good games that it seemed like a lot of people missed - Custom Robo being the first that comes to mind, I hardly hear anything about it. I think the series was really big in Japan and it was like the 3rd or 4th game they released but was the only one released outside, idk why it was a really fun game =X

Aw man! I forgot Double Dash! That game is amazing! And it's even friendly for those who don't play video games (assuming they're your gunner ;) )

I'll agree with you on the criticisms of the game. As it was, I was at an age/mental state where the story of games were either incomprehensible, or unimportant to me. So I was left with the game play, which, at that time, I thoroughly enjoyed. I doubt that I would like it as much today as I did then, but that was a different age.

Same, even when I got newer consoles I kept coming back to the GameCube

My Gamecube stopped working and I didn't get to play my games again until I bought the Wii which was about 2 years later (that was not fun). Anyways, Metroid Prime, SSBM, Mario Kart Double Dash, Timesplitter, Resident Evil 4, and the Mario Party series are the games I remember playing the most.

Well thing is I am a collector so I can be very obssesive about my stuff, i make sure there are no dents, marks, scratches etc on my consoles, and on some cases when I know they are prone to scratching (Shiny coated PS3 im looking at you...) i end up buying 2, one for play, and one for collection purposes.

I bought a PS1 about a year ago for collection purposes, since I can just use my PS2 for PS1 games. It;s the slim model although I would love to have the fat model too

I've been playing on console almost my entire life. I remember when my grandpa sat me down to play LoZ:LA and Pokemon Red on the SNES (we had a special cartridge that allowed us to use gameboy games on the TV). When I had the gamecube I would always listen to the little intro it made when it was turned on and get excited to play. I had all the greatest games such as LoZ:WW, PM:TTYD, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, both Pikmin games, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Sluggers, Mario Party 7, the list goes on and on. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't played some of these games try them out sometime. I could probably fill this entire post just reminiscing over the other consoles and games such as genesis, dreamcast, ps1 & 2, SNES, ...I'll just stop now...

Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia Legends, StarFox (both Adventures and Assault), Metroid Prime 1 and 2, The Legend of Zelda Bookworm Hoers Princess, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Soul Calibur 2, and Pikmin 1 and 2.

Ok that is kind of annoying. Why does this thing change Twi-light Princess to Second Place Bookworm Horse Princess?

Probably a word filter meant to avoid mention of a certain crepuscular equine.

The Gamecube was my first TV console, and boy do I love it. Didn't have a lot of games for it, just Pokemon Colosseum, a couple of Sonic games and Windwaker. Windwaker was more than enough to make it worthwhile though. I've bought a couple of secondhand games in recent years, but they're hard to find.

How's the Gamecube version of 'Crepuscular' Princess? I've got the Wii version, curious to hear if the differences add up to much when playing.

I hear everything is mirrored in the Wii port to accommodate right-handed people. Aside from that there's the obvious difference in the control schemes. It may just be me but the WiiU port seems MUCH easier.

Huh, I'm surprised that the WiiU port is easier. I wonder why that could be? At least you can make it a bit harder with the Ganondorf amiibo. As for the control schemes, I'm torn. Shaking the wiimote for the sword is a pain, I'd much rather just press a button, but aiming for arrows is so much better for me than using the stick in WW.

Do you know if the WiiU version is mirrored like the Wii, or does it match the Gamecube version?

Think of the WiiU port as an HD version of the Gamecube port. With WiiU controller compatibility.
