The Reason Why We Can't Have Nice Things

This post is from what I've gathered...
Agreed, it does seems a little garish at the moment. If they want to keep the colored banner, perhaps a lavender or something that doesn't contrast as much? Or perhaps, if they reverted the banner to the more discreet one but wanted to keep the backer status eye-catching, they could change the color of the usernames instead. (which is possible on XenForo forums as can be seen here)
Name colors is a different story here. I know you remember that back in the days on that site, there were people with multiple titles that could only have one color for their username. This was when banners DID exist under the names. The system for it assigns an ID to each user and gives the user that color and effect ID henceforth whenever their username is loaded. I can no longer tell how the banner was associated no how much further in detail that goes, however.

Here, it appears that the purpose of the Crowdfund Backer banner is to let the funders stand out. Best example: Compare mine with this that I screen-shotted from Mane6 (User) :

Now look at someone who doesn't have the banner. Something at a very dark color, much darker than the admin color, would make the entire purpose of it null and void.

I'm not saying I disagree with changing it, nor am I saying I agree with it, I just think that staying bright is still a good idea.

I'll definitely be weighing in my own opinions later.

As a backer, I appreciate the gesture and the good intentions behind it. However, I'd say there are just too many of us to justify this strong of a distinction. In result it doesn't make it feel as special as it tries to look anyway, as a certain someone pointed out before.

I'd compare the forums to a lady preparing for an exquisite evening. Putting on a pair of subtle gold earrings, a fancy gold ring and a thin gold necklace - sounds balanced and refined. Unless she's Mr T though, putting on 20 heavy golden chains on her neck will just be total overkill and not look good.

Similarly here - a banner standing out this much could work if it was for a rare type of forum member like a developer, moderator, voice actor or EVO champion. At the moment though, I'm fairly certain crowdfunding backers outnumber non-backers on the forums. The ratio might - and likely will - shift with time as more non-backers get interested in the game and its forums, but by the time that happens our eyes will be tired enough that it just won't feel special enough to warrant this much bling anyway. Going by the idea of "the more distinct a banner, the rarer it should be", I'd say something like switching the colors of the backer and staff banners would be an aesthetic improvement.

Rather than embedded irc, I'd like a specific link to a browser based one so u could just keep it in its own window without needing irc downloaded.
Forum Games are definitely a plus though.

I think you misunderstand what embedded means. You don't have to download any external applications if a script is embedded properly because the script should normally be getting loaded along with the rest of the webpage. In other words, embedding a chat client inherently makes that chat client browser-based, and absolutely allows you to have it in its own separate tab/window.

Nope nope, I understand perfectly well. I just like having specific URLs for irc so I can just keep a tiny window opened on the side of my screen.

The site uses BB code right? I looked online for codes to try to resize an image. But I tried and tried and couldn't resize the image.

Is it an issue with the site and BB Codes or did I just put in the wrong coding?
Not all sites use identical BBCode and I believe Xenforo doesn't use a resize option in their [img] tags. That said, Xenforo does allow for the quick and easy addition of custom BBCode through the ACP. So it could just as well be implemented by M6, should they want to.

Really? That sounds cool. I mean, replies automatically resize images to be smaller, at least, so you don't need to worry too much about HUGE posts unless you're the one making the huge images :p

Also, I really think the "Start Conversation" button should be a lot easier to find on profiles. I didn't even realize it existed.

Down the ne'er-do-well.
Something I reckon would be kinda cool would be the same thing that Smashboards does. (Which also runs off of the same forum software).
If you're a "Premium" member, you can have your designated (through the profile) main character as a semi-transparent underlay in the background of your individual posts.

This definitely sounds awesome.

Oh sweet! These new Crowdfund Backer banners look much spiffier now. Dunno if @ManeSix has been keeping an eye on this thread or they just had the same thought process, but regardless, thanks you guys! ;)
Weren't they yellow before?

So on this board, there's a cap of six people in a given conversation. Just figured I'd ask, is that a thing that could be changed?

Might be a bit early to get excited, but it might be worth mentioning that it seems like M6 might be taking steps to implement this. Doesn't look like the public has access yet, and it seems like M6 are trying to get the permissions sorted out, as not all their posts have it, but the ones that do are looking pretty swell!
Currently, it seems all their posts in the "Backer Status forum privileges" thread have the underlay. And if, for some unfortunate reason, this feature winds up not working and is removed from the site, anyone interested can see how it looked below.

Is there a thread for bugs? I have just seen few threads about backer banner, but not about bugs in general... If there is, then it is reeealy neatly hidden, I have spent half a hour finding it....

This topic's been brought up before. Iirc, the Devs said that they felt that there was no need for a bug thread just yet, as everything was still relatively new.

Well that's quite dumb idea IMHO... For example Rich Text editor is bugged as hell in android version of Mozilla... It's focus derps, I can't select, copy and insert text. I can't make new line with enter. But the BB code editor works....

Any chance of either alternate forum themes or else spacing the lines in the stripey background out a tad bit more? On the monitor I normally use for browsing they buzz. It's rather disconcerting. (If there already are ones, any chance the option could be made more prominent so I can find it? :p) Otherwise liking the forum set-up, based on what little poking around I've done (I kinda' forgot they were here for a while *cough*). :)

I have a suggestion for the Off Topic category?

Currently there is just the "Off Topic" subfforum, but I think it would be a good idea to split it into "Off Topic" and "Forum Games". About half the threads in the general Off Topic forum are forum games. I think it might clean things up a bit, reduce clutter you know?

Agreed 100%. There's nothing wrong with forum games, but, as it is, they're pretty much dominating the Off Topic area. That's fine for those who like forum games (which seems to be a good number of users), but for those that don't it really clutters the place, as Shadow of Death said. Separating the two would hopefully invigorate off topic discussions while simultaneously allowing for forum games to thrive in their own area.
