There's a flying puppy with dive bombs now. We got to briefly meet the new bg artist. Tianhuo's equivalent to RD's lightning bolt and magic meter recharge have been changed to make her more in-your-face. Animating faces is very time intensive. They really, really, really want to make an intro. Cow stares into your soul.

EDIT: I missed it live, but you can watch the recordings on Twitch.

They will likely be posting it to youtube soon, and I believe you can still watch it on their twitch channel under "past broadcasts". Stream spoilers below.

Pom progress was shown. Animation is still very rough, but work has been done on her puppies. They are now controllable separate from Pom! They can be controlled together as a group and separate from each other as well. There are different levels of puppy, the first costing 1 magic, the second and third both costing 2. The third puppy can fly and keep opponents from jumping too much by attacking up there and do a diving attack as well.

Tianhuo was then shown. Also very rough, but her attacks were shown. (Flaming uppercut and a breath of fire were my personal favorites). Her proportions in game still may need to be worked on. Her flames will likely affect the lighting on other characters, but not the background. They have ideas on how to do it, but it doesn't look like it's been started yet. She's going to be slow on the ground, but much faster in the air and her flying was shown. Her magic system was discussed; it was previously going to recharge with her on the ground, but they want her to have to engage more, so now it will recharge faster when closer to/fighting the opponent.

There was a new background, an idea for Velvet's stage, a static image of a night time snowy scene with an aurora in the sky . New background artist Lindsey (spelling?) said hello and they said the backgrounds are going to be 3D and not 2.5/parallax. The aurora will be animated in the final version as well!

Other than that, work on expressions for Arizona was shown in Flash. Sounded like Lauren sends sketches of expressions for the characters for the rest of the team to use. There are happy and sad versions of each, so it's something like "6*10*2" (120) expressions. They said it's tedious work and takes a while to get them all done. The models in Flash were color coded by part, and Arizona looked interesting...
While the expressions were worked on, discussions about lack of advertisement budget, EVO being somewhere they want to go, but it's expensive, a desire for a good intro sequence, but how it's difficult to make a game and devote time to animating an intro well, and questions from the chat were answered.

Overall, progress continues and looks good!
