In the meantime, you may command the Apex Commanders as you wish awhile I am away. (snaps talon as the lights turn on, revealing 7 extremely deadly predators) May I present: Coil the Python (Llama), Duo the Liger (Cattle), Shedd the Dire Wolf (Sheep), Granite the Cockatrice (Unicorn), Vandal the Polar Bear (Unicorn), Tao the Qilin (Longma), and Vlad the chupacabra (that looks a lot like a dog than humanoid) (Goat). They'll follow all orders down to the letter, but their main objective is to seek out their opposite prey and destroy them. Select who you want for the war effort awhile I prep to deliver the package, with my flock carrying duplicate containers to confuse the enemy. So sure, just hand it over and I'll take it to wherever you want.
OOC: So these are all the unfished OC's that try to capture the player OC's or die trying? (if this is the case dibs on Vandal the Polar Bear)

(eyes the chess game with a bit of confusion) As always, modern games puzzle me. Also, that switch on the far wall causes instant flooding as a self-destruct mechanism as well to ward off tunnelers, but will drain within 5 minutes. So find a large room and swim upwards for a air pocket if the flood occurs. Still, base 4, heh? Very well...Birds, move out! (hundreds of large birds fly out of the fortress in all directions carrying a duplicate container, as he takes the real cargo towards it's secret destination)

OOC: I thought you were only supposed to do that when you get attacked? Also. Adding a flooding mechanism? Really? Well it's no matter, either ice or fire magic can take care of that easily enough.

You do know that I could swallow all of that and keep it in my infinite stomach, right? Or open my back zipper and drain it into there, because that too is infinite, but also finite.

OOC: I think we can just do all the rescue stuff here. Rule of thumb, whoever's turf the RP is taking place on, that's where we do the RP. Maybe once the rescue story has been completed we can ask for the thread to be unlocked and it can all be posted there. For now, any actual, current, ongoing RP should stay in the existing threads.

OOC: One thing greatly confuses me. What are we attacking? Because at first it sounded like we were attacking some small base in a cave somewhere, but then the hunters apparently moved Fleece to the Base 4 thing, expressively to prevent his rescue. As far as I'm aware we are still attacking the first cave we were talking about, we don't even KNOW about the Base 4 prison. But apparently people are assuming that not only we know about it but it's what we are planning on attacking?

Ugh I'm confused... I hate when metagaming make the RP nonsensical...

Technically, Hurri started the whole Base 4 thing.
As for why? I don't know, but I do know that he should have asked us if he could make that whole place up if he was going to change the setting of the rescue altogether.

You need to follow the Hunter thread more closely.

(flaps right in with a bottle full of corn oil) Well, of course it's "ours". If anything, they're renting the land from us in exchange for resources or we start with taking their old and weak to lower their morale and gulp them down bones and all. So what's the issue? They assault you or something?
Not yet. Though I suspect they'll be coming soon to do just that. Feel like setting up some defenses? Or, would you rather...

Escort a certain payload to a new location?

Excellent. Head to base Four. That should be a good place to store the cargo until it's ripe.

(ooc: If you are discussing me, I prefer SH. Regardless, I thought we could make a separate RP Topic as long as it was labelled [Hunters] or whatever, for a 'Event' thread. Either way, I could put the stuff right here if you want, along with OC Bosses, Sub-Bosses and Minions to guard the individual floors, followed by the flood 'self-destruct' to make it more dramatic.)

OOC: you can do that but it's not really the issue, the thing is that IC we are not attacking Base 4. We are attacking some cave in which we think Fleece is being kept. We don't even know about Base 4 IC.

Hence why I said that Hurri should have asked us to move the location. 'Base 4' could be 'that one cave were attacking' to us and 'Base 4' to them.

It was said that this island was not normal, a eternally burning furnace in which even the rocks melted and melded for what seemed like millennia. Shaped like a hamburger bun, the 1 mile-wide in diameter island had only one opening in the center big enough for a elephant to get through, but was normally sealed shut by the Gargoyle Stone magic (as the nocturnal sentries armed with spears essentially stood amongst the super-hot flames unaffected). Surrounding the island was a multitude of sharks and squids working together, along with a rather huge shark that almost seemed ancient in age.
(flaps down and calls out to the guards) Oi, knuckleheads! Open up, got a delivery here!
Gargoyles: (look up and retract the entryway, as I swoop down through it with the cargo, the entrance resealing right after)
(lands several miles down a rather narrow passage, that if breached, will fill up with high amounts of CO2, onto a stone platform. A massive Roc in aerodynamic battle armor flaps down in front, studying the goods with it's glass eye)
Roc: Ah, excellent, right on time. I am Vice Apex Commander Nebu, welcome to Area 4, aka the G.R.I.L.L. where we store some of the best living meats on the planet.
(releases package and 'hands' it over) Vice Apex Admiral Hurri. I understand that not a single breakout or break in has been successful ever since we have come back?
Nebu: (sweats just a tad) Yes, so far. The other Apex Wardens keep the peace and keep the Prey POWs, as well as any predator who breaks the rules under control. This island, though small on the outside above water and extremely hot, actually has multiple levels of caverns below sea level that we have fashioned into our own personal jail sections. Naturally, given this is the boss's exclusive prey, it will be taken to Sub-Level 7 where even hope dies. Will you come along with me, so I can give you a tour of the place and introduce you to the wardens should you need to visit again?
(shrugs wings) Sure, it's not like the Council is actively mounting a rescue operation here since they're obviously going for our normal HQ. Lead on. (The three get onto a lone stone platform suspended in mid-air, which slowly descends into the dark abyss, and into what seems to be a tropical savanna with a gleaming fake sun in the center. Screams and cries of agony can be heard)
Nebu: Sub Level 1 The Pridelands- For really weak prey, we have them chased and played with by a horde of cunning lionesses as the thick grass keeps prey well-fed but also obscures sight, leading to jump scares. the Sub-Warden, heads this area. Each area leads to a hole in the center to the next sub floor. (The platform goes deeper, as the next room turns into a dank cavern with barred gates)
Nebu: Level 2 The Laughs of Wrath- The jail cells can be open at any time, but here, predators are free to hunt in packs for any prey out in the open. ....runs this area, commanding several dozen
Hyena guards. Prisoners get fed here of course, but not as much as on Level 1. We also have a Vampire Bat platoon that echo-locate any attempts at breakout and spies on conversations. (The platform descends further into a dry, dusty desert filled with animal skulls and bones)
Nebu: Level 3: The Haboob Graveyard, in which sandstorms are common. Here and there is a Oasis of water and grass, but due to overcrowding, fierce fights break out. is the subwarden for this territory, with a hardy gang of rough rider Hoop Snakes that scour for challenging prey. (It descends further down, this time into a sterile, clean work environment filled with offices and medicial equipment)
Nebu: Level 4 The Rat Race, where experimentation of all sorts is used on prey and predator alike. Nothing is off-limits, and testing of various sorts is mandatory. We are currently working on ways to have prey love each other more often, as well as how to remove the side-effects of male offspring that are sterile (zonkeys, uniras, etc), though females are unaffected. Our best and brightest are even considering the possibility of making a 'copy' of a Sabertooth Tiger or earlier, more vicious predators, though that is a ways off til we find a skin or bone marrow sample. (it descends further into a quaint oriental setting with Japanese-like houses all around and a rather large tower descending from floor to ceiling, with a variety of guards in dark blue clothing hiding in the shadows)
Nebu: Level 5 The Wild Hunt- This is where Head Warden Kurama lives, though he uses a separate elevator in that tower to go from floor to floor. As the only Kitsune ever to escape the Hold, he has a high level of magic potential, mostly in realistic illusions that hurt if one touches them. But the fire he emits is even a match for reindeer magic. In any case, prisoners go in and have a certain amount of time being chased before they are allowed to go back up or down, and there will be pursuers everywhere, though most would be illusions. (the air turns chilly as they go down further into a desolate wasteland of ice and snow, where prey of various sorts shiver and die due to lack of warmth)
Nebu: Level 6 The Freezer, where any prey or predator who is really a pain to deal with is tossed in here. Of course, it's around...0 degrees C but it changes depending on how many newcomers come through here. Fights over packages of dropped food occur more here than in the desert, and the guards here are like missiles on ice, aka Penguins. Heck, I prefer not to face them given how fast their footwork is. And we're just about at the bottom (hands Hurri and the prisoner a gas mask, along with himself), you may need this.
(The platform lowers to the last sub-floor, in which the room is immensely large with filthy, sorrowful animals in cast-iron cages, filled with a purple mist that blankets the floor. All of which are also wearing gas masks, quiet and solemn.)
Nebu: 7th Sub-floor, Boggy Bottom, where hope dies. As well as anyone stupid enough not to be prepared ahead of time for the noxious combined smell of swamp gas and skunks. Here, the smoke obscures vision making it hard to see the foldable trap cages hidden in the floor, or the quicksand sinkholes for that matter. Prey and predator alike drink the swamp water, freshly purified of course, which keeps them overly calm and relaxed. And of course, in the possibility of a break-out, all one needs is to press a button on Level 4 which causes panels along the walls to open, filling the room with a torrent of water. So, everything look okay to you?
Me: (flaps over to a open cage and drops the scared cargo inside) Eh, we could have done worse. But I am glad you put the time into getting more of our guys out using that corn oil so they could squeeze out.
Nebu: Think nothing of it, we are proud to serve our Elders.)

Also we are unless we somehow know another base, attacking the one I'd have been in when I was still part of the hunters... a very dangerous plan considering the amount of time an ambush could have been prepared in that time.

OOC: Well, OC has confirmed that it is not Hunter HQ, but a secondary base for operations like this. That ofcourse begs the question of how we knew about it and it's location. From Weylyn seems the obvious answer, but that also begs the question of why - if we knew about it and its location - did we not have eyes on it, and see the whole business with the relocation of Prisoner X. I mean, sure it might have been defended and the area patrolled, but I'd imagine with all the tricks we have in our arsenal, we might have atleast gotten close enough to see a massive flock of birds flying out in every direction carrying cargo and put 2 and 2 together. Is there purpose to this speculation? I don't know anymore.

If you click on their name under their profile picture, you should see a new small box open in the upper center of the screen with several blue options under the little quote they use. Click on "Start a Conversation", and that will allow you to begin PMing them.
Plus, sorry, I don't read the Predator thread that much.
Oh, OH, I GET IT! I SEE HOW IT IS!!! Well, if that's how it's gonna be! *freezes picture of Zero* (Can't really burn it 'cause that'll only make it stronger).

Allow me to explain what all of that was about.
First: The cave that is being sieged, is indeed the one that the UFC has traced Fleece to be in.
Second: Base 4 is a location that was more or less invented on the fly, with the details and the description that you saw and read having been invented by super hurricane. I offered no input or suggestions as to what it contained or even what it was. That said, I would be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with the sheer creativity that was used in making it.
Third: I failed to specify the timing of all of this. In my head, this transport of goods takes place just before the UFC launches its assault. IE: they see super hurricane's birds leaving said cave with a large container of some sort.
Fourth: I publicly acknowledge that I have been woefully negligent in communicating with those of The Hunters faction. If we are to form secret plans, sneaky ways, and other methods of being evil, then I suppose it would be prudent to do so in secret and personally, rather then open in the air.
Fifth: As far as what's in the container, well, that's a secret ;)
Sixth: super hurricane y u no capitalize u name?! (Don't mind me, I'm just a part-time grammar-Nazi, who's not exactly a pro grammarererererer...)

I suspect that I missed the mark a little in answering questions in regards to "Base 4", but aside from that, was that helpful to everyone? I don't mean to cause any confusion or any such. Thus, if you're still unsure, feel free to ask either here, or PM.

OOC: Here's the situation as I understand it. Fleece is in a cave system being guarded by Hunters (including Duo the Liger). The container is being taken to a different Hunter cave system for unknown reasons. We can call this other cave system "Base 4," and it might require some downgrading.

We can cross that bridge when we come to it though. For now, Fleece is in a cave, you know where the cave is, go get him out. The Base 4 stuff can be handled later.

(OOC: Yeah, Area 4 is a no-go since someone really doesn't like the idea. But if you want, I could make the cavern system really tricky for any intruders using natural defenses and the like. And I did capitalize, the name just turned out that way upon signing in.)
OOC: I don't hate the idea of new locations (though they of coure have to stay in the existing threads) I was just annoyed because I assumed that you were putting Fleece somewhere else, making our assault useless and retarding Fleece's liberation. In hindsight I suddenly realize the nature of the "payload" was never specified so... I might have jumped the gun on this one. Oops.
Edit: Oh, I wasn't the one you were talking about. Should've read the Council's new posts before the Hunters'

(glides back in) Package delivered promptly. And during so, I managed to get in touch with some of the darker organizations that have been making a 'mess' during our absence. Groups of sentient yet dangerous herbivores, who for whatever reason, want us to reclaim the world and eat whoever they ask us to eat, and offered their services in exchange for certain things that we had hidden away. Baubles and useless relics and gems, mostly. Things that aren't prey or food. I think they're called...'doomsday cults'?

I am curious. Why would side with a force that, if you were not loyal to them, would devour you the same as I and the others of this world? What if, to prove your loyalty, they would ask you to offer yourselves as nourishment?

Why?

You would like to know why?

It is because the Masters are true power.
They fill all of Foenum with fear.
They give us such awesome power.

They fear nothing.
They will tear the world asunder, and when they do,
we will watch

and with them
FEAST

Come, oh half-predator! Cast off that half which
holds you back
makes you weak
is nought but pathetic prey
and join our ranks. Know what it means to feel the power of your very own blood become,

Unfettered,
Unchained,
Unleashed!

The Door is not yet open, there is yet time to serve the Masters.

Come.
Join us...

(This whole post is OOC)

So I just found some music called "Rule 34" by a guy named Voxxin and extended by Cider Party. I won't link it here because the background image is kinda saucy (and is also totally NOT the reason I clicked on the video by the way...) but look it up, it's a great Drum and Bass track reminiscent of old Pendulum songs. Anyway, I was imagining playing TFH to this because it made me think of a dark Paprika. So I started thinking up a dark Paprika boss fight and before I knew it... well...

This isn't directly related to this faction but I didn't want to make a whole new thread just for this concept. Let's just say this is a "what if" post for if Paprika was given The Mark by you guys and became a psychotic corruption of herself. For added fun, I've included time stamps so you can listen to what parts of "Rule 34" inspired the different segments of the fight.
The level leading up to the fight is a run-down old building, dark, dusty and boarded up. Throughout, the player (Arizona) encounters several predator scouts, some of which are in cages (whether or not the cages can actually hold them or if they're just for show is left unclear). Strangely, these scouts have all been decorated with bright paint and cute sweaters, not that it makes them any less ferocious. Eventually, the player comes across a room where a bunch of cages have been stacked up like a stage. They all appear to be empty, but some have been covered with colorful blankets, and their contents are unknown. The setting sun shines through the cracks in the walls, giving everything in the room an uncomfortable orange highlight. Standing center stage is Paprika, bright and bouncy as ever. Walking in front of the stage transports the player out of the pixel environment and into the fight, though Paprika remains in the background on top of the cages, out of the player's reach. It doesn't look like there's anyone to fight yet. The music starts and a few dialogue boxes pop up.
0:00 - :arizona: "Paprika! What in tarnation is with all these cages? An' why are there scouts everywhere?"
:Paprika:"Oh! I see you've met my newest of new friends! Don't worry about the scary teeth, they're all sweeties, really! They even let me paint their fur! They painted mine too... see, right here on my forehead! Soon we're going to paint all the ungulates in Foenum to match! I just needed a way to stop them from running is all! Take Olly for example..." Paprika pulls on a rope and Oleander is lowered down from the ceiling, upside-down, tied up and gagged. "Soon I'll have ALL the friends... and they'll have me... and we'll ALL have The Devourer! I just need more time..."
:arizona:"...I recon you've gone crazy. Someone's gotta stop you. May as well be me."
:Paprika:"I'm a little too busy to play right now, but I'm sure one of my friends will keep you ENTERTAINED! Paprika stomps her hoof on one of the covered cages. It swings open, revealing another painted predator scout. The fight begins!

0:44 -
The scout is exactly the same as every other scout, albeit with a little more health. The true obstacle is Oleander, who is still tied up above the fighting stage. If the player or the scout hits her, she will swing. Being hit by her swing will deal damage and cause various levels of knockdown (depending on how hard she's hit). You can use her against the scout, but be warned, she has her own health bar, and if that gets depleted, the fight is lost.
1:07 - If the fight wasn't confusing enough, Paprika starts dashing about in the background and throwing flower pots, which fall down at the player from above. These cannot hit Oleander or the scout, but they CAN hit you, and by golly do they hurt.
1:41 - The scout is defeated!
:Paprika:"Aww, are they tired already? Well that's okay, there are plenty more friends where that came from!" Paprika stamps on another covered cage, which falls open... and it contains nothing but healthy, nutritious apples. Some of them fall into the foreground, and the player is given a few moments to eat them to replenish health. "Oh, wait... no there isn't. Let me try something else..."
2:03 - Paprika dashes off the screen and the camera pans slightly to the left. There is a large pile of cages and Paprika is standing at the very top. She pulls out apples and starts tossing them at the Player. Some arc up, some go straight and some roll along the ground. Oleander is still dangling in the middle, and she can be hit by the straight-tossed apples, so dodging them isn't enough - the player has to hit them back at Paprika's cage tower!
2:26 - The apples get faster...
2:37 - The apples get insane!
2:45 - The cage tower has been hit enough times that it collapses. Paprika falls down, but tucks into a roll at the last second and springs to her hooves. She's on the same plane as the Player now. The camera pans back to the middle. Time for the final showdown!
2:48 - A standard Paprika fight, but with Oleander still in the line of fire. The Player has to work really hard staying on top of Paprika so she can't catch Oleander in the crossfire.
3:09 - Suddenly, Paprika runs off the screen... and reappears in the VERY foreground, right up in the camera! She gives a manic look and waves her hoof over the battle stage, switching Oleander and Arizona around. The Player is now in control of Oleander, and Arizona is the one tied up and hanging from the ceiling! Oleander doesn't inherit Arizona's health either - the health she had while tied up is now her battle health, and vice versa for Arizona. Remember; depleting either health bar will lose you the fight! Built up charge and magic stay the same though. After making the switch, Paprika dashes back into battle.
3:44 - Paprika is finally defeated.
:oleander:"A valiant effort, calf, but leave this to the grown-ups next time."
:arizona:"Consarn it! I had 'er!"
Maybe if I find other music that inspires me enough I'll make more of these for the other characters. Probably not though, designing boss fights is hard.

Great, now I really wanna listen to that song, but I fear it may be a bit too lewd for my tastes.
