In my last development update, I announced that the estimated release date of version 1.0 is being extended into the next year and that we will now only provide estimates if we were sure we could make the deadline. There’s a little more I’d like to add to this conversation.
Over the last week looking at the remaining tasks for 1.0, we came to the conclusion that going forward Story Mode must receive 100% of our focus until Chapter 1 is complete. We don’t want to keep people waiting any longer. It needs to get out there in the absolute fastest time we are capable of, while simultaneously realizing the vision we have to make it well worth the wait.
As Chapter 1 ships, we feel that TFH will be ready to graduate Early Access into version 1.0, as it will have reached the point of “at least one of everything, but technically not done done yet”. All other features in development that were previously intended for 1.0 are now getting placed on hold until after 1.0: which includes level 3 supers.
If there is any extra time at all we will do our best to include some fun side things associated with the 1.0 launch of a game, like Steam achievements and trading cards, but nothing is certain yet. Unless it’s a critical bug that renders part of the game non-functional or it’s related to Chapter 1 of Story Mode, chances are it will have to wait until we’ve cleared this milestone first.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and patience as we move forward in development. As always if you have any questions about how things are going, reply to this post or contact me directly in our discord server: discord.gg/tfh.
