Can we count to 100?

I'm going to be honest, I have no clue how this thread evolved into Poképosting and haven't been around here long enough to figure out what exactly is going on here so I'm just going give you you all a Pocket Monster that looks slightly like Velvet and probably hasn't been posted before.

We've been posting Pokemon by dex number. For example, Vanilluxe (the last pokemon) is number 584. Next would be #585, Deerling. In other words, you were ONE Pokemon off of increasing the count accidentally. XD

Wait seriously? That would have been one heck of a coincidence. I guess now I need to post Sawsbuck again?

Coming up with puns has always been something of a cognitive exercise for me.

By the way, in case Delusional Dreamer is wondering, we decided that every 100th Pokémon would be a checkpoint, so puns are safe for the moment.

Personally, I think this one's even stranger.

That said, though, I actually really like the idea of water-dwelling, non-water-type pokémon. The amount of variety in aquatic life IRL is ginormous, and it'd be really cool to see even more of that variety reflected in Pokémon. If pokémon HAD to be water-type just because they're aquatic, then it would kinda hold that variety back, I'd say. Not to mention it just wouldn't be good for type distribution in general... I don't recall being a fan of all those water routes back in Ruby & Sapphire where EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER was a water-type. Besides, if you think about it, saying that aquatic pokémon have to be water-type is kind of like saying land-dwellers have to be ground-type (or perhaps that they have to be flying-type because they breathe air).

...Sorry for the spiel. Admittedly, I somewhat fell out of the loop on Pokémon during the previous couple generations, so I don't actually know how most people feel about this subject, or even whether or not I'm spouting nonsense. Let me know if I am, by the way.

What in the name of...
What is this thing?

Elgyem, the cerebral Pokemon. It's true origins are unknown, but many predict it came from the stars. Its name is pronounced L.G.M., which is an acronym for Little Green Man, a common phrase used to describe extra-terrestrial beings.

Beheeyem, the evolved form of Elgyem. Much like its lesser form, Beheeyem's name is also pronounced as an acronym, B.E.M., which stands for Bug Eyed Man. Much like Little Green Man, Bug Eyed Man is also a common phrase used to depict aliens in popular culture, though its usage is becoming slightly more archaic in the modern world.
