I know most of the people in this forum are regular players in fighting games, and many of you'll have one or two favorites... But you have never thought, whilst playing one, things like: "God, this thing is horrible!" or "This game was created by Satan just for torturing us D:". What's the game that make your afternoon a ruin? And why?

There's worse games than Shaq Fu, honestly.

My all time worst is Dino Rex. There's a jump button for no reason, pressing up makes your dinosaur roar (which sounds like a demon straight out of hell) to no effect, and if the characters ever switch sides, the game stops so they can go back to their proper sides. Jesus, that game was bad.

Rise of the Robots is famed for being simultaneously one of the most overhyped (the marketing campaign was massive, it was even advertised in theaters), and yet one of the worst fighting games ever made. You really have to see it to believe it.

Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown is complete crap, you don't even have all the characters available unless you beat all of them in the arcade mode, which is the same order every time, and when you turn the game off, you have to do it all over again.

The special moves are horribly unresponsive, the enemy AI can spam the hell out of the special moves effortlessly (especially the Gingerbread Man), and worst of all, some of the stages have bottomless pits, which seems fine but the movement is very awkward and the jumping has too much up and over. And the biggest crime of all? No multiplayer, or at least I recall there not being multiplayer, I haven't touched the game in a few years. Try it on an emulator if you want, and enjoy the pain.

Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi
Basically a bad rip-off of Soul Calibur with wooden controls.

What the hell is that???? My god XDDDDDDDD
Ahhh Tattoo Assassins. The game that claimed to be better than Mortal Kombat because it has 2196 fatalities and yet never saw the daylight.
Even worse is that it was directed by Bob Gale, known as the creator of Back to the Future along with Zemeckis

Yea it was realy bad, but the real unbelievable thing is that they made a sequel. (The Sequel was also bad:D)

Worst one I've played Guilty Gear Isuka. Like Mortal Kombat: Mythologies, you have to press a button to turn around. That INSTANTLY killed it for me and it was the first game I removed from my Steam account.

Isuka was basically some weird "Newgrounds" 4-players melee game. You would have more fun with a 2v2 match on MUGEN.

I used to be horribly addicted t this game (both 1 and 2 where my childhood):

And then it's next gen sequel came out:

The slow fighting speed and 30 second loading time per match just killed any sense of fast phase fighting the game had.
When you want to do a air combo the game cuts to this shot of you character looking up first before jumping.
Another weird thing they did was replace the music that had a bit a of a beat going on and replaced it with orchestral music.

Watch this video of next dimension. (don't look at the player skill level, just the speed of the game)

And then compare it to this one of mutant academy.

I felt so betrayed.

The idea of Isuka is to have up to 4 players fighting at once. When one opponent is in front of you while another behind you, deciding via button press when to turn around becomes pretty much a necessity.

Bleach: The Shattered Blade.
I remember I was playing Bleach: Vs Crusade at a friends house and was genuinely impressed at it so naturally I wanted to get it. Unfortunately I forgot what it was called so when I went up to gamestop I picked up the only Bleach game for the Wii that I saw. AND OH BOY WAS IT THE WRONG GAME. It didn't move nearly as fluid as I was expecting and the attacks didn't have the right feel to them. The game also felt incredibly restricted combo wise, though that's a personal problem, so I was completely turned off and upset.
Come to find out Vs Crusade was never localized in America so...

It can work, it's just that Isuka was a poorly thought out mess which reused and retouched characters from GG:X2#R. The turn button really wasn't so bad when you got used to it because you could do back-facing attacks, but the unblockable Forward + Backward situations from 2 characters were the worst part for me.
But, hey, at least A.B.A. (the greatest and bestest Key-Waifu) came out from the game. Then was in X3. Then got removed entirely from Guilty Gear canon. *cry*

On topic, I present to you all: Veteran Combat

Honestly, this is one of the worst games I've ever played in general, but it happens to be a fighting game, so here's Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu for the GBA.

Is... that running on an emulator on a crappy PC or something? It can't REALLY be THAT slow... can it?

IIRC, Isuka isn't canon to Guilty Gear, and GG:X2ACR+ (the only main-stay GG she appeared in) was removed from the canon, which means that A.B.A. would never have existed in the Guilty Gear story.

Just going on the record saying that I actually enjoyed GG Isuka.

The "worst" fighting game I own has to be History Channel's Deadliest Warrior: The Game for Playstation 3. I bought it because I genuinely enjoyed the television show when it was airing and it reminded me of Bushido Blade 1 & 2 for PS1. However, it offered even less than BB as far as characterization and story are concerned. The game was $15 on the PSN and the DLC added a whopping two new playable characters for...$15 more. After that, I was done.

I found out later that they made DW: Legends and DW: Ancient Combat, which introduced real warriors from history, but by then I didn't give a damn. If Bushido Blade 3 ever comes to fruition, I'll buy that instead.
