Am i the only one that can't get email notifications to turn off?

So, I've been through my profile options and turned off every single one that pertains to getting an email every time a thread updates and I'm still getting them. I just want to know if this is happening for anyone else and if so, propose that they default them to off until it can be fixed.

They're off perfectly fine for me. You're sure you've gone to the Preferences tab on your profile option and turned them off from there?

Yep. I didn't get one (yet) for this though so it's either fixed itself, actually saved my changes this time or only happens with threads I replied to before I made the change.

Did you turn off the email notifications or just the alerts? The options for those are given on two separate pages. Email options are under Preferences (as opposed to Alert Preferences). Figured I'd mention since that almost caught me.

Aaaand, it looks like I'm still getting them for threads I replied to before I changed my preferences.

Ah well, at least that means my inbox won't be overwhelmed.

I think what you have to do is go to the email and click on "disable emails from this thread" should be at the bottom in tiny lettering. At least it was for me.

You're a lifesaver, I have my email linked to my phone, so hearing the constant notifications after doing everything else in this thread forced me to put it on mute. Now my sanity can be restored, slightly.

Do you have to do that on every thread? Is there a way to turn them off by default at all?

As far as i know you have to do it on every thread you participated in or watched before disabling email notifications. I'm not sure if there is a way to disable all of them at once. sorry

Under 'Preferences' then 'Options' for the checkbox to automatically watch threads and receive emails.

Hopefully that saves everyone time.
