I picked up the ORIGINAL X-COM set on Steam for cheap, and I've been enjoying it. It's better with Open X-COM, though. And it's hard.

I finally cleared the air combo lesson in the Skullgirls tutorial last night. I've also been having reasonable success versus the Easy level AI using Filia, just by using a super basic combo of LP, LK, MK, HK. Edit: That is, by never getting any combos much beyond that. I'm also trying to use...

My user name is loosely inspired by Count Zero from the William Gibson novel of the same name. My avatar is my attempt at using a pony generator program to create "me, if I were hit by a ponification ray." As you can see, I haven't selected a custom title or signature yet.

I have a copy of Starfleet Battles somewhere. As much as I like the idea, I found it to be waaaay too finicky in execution for my tastes.

I find it surprising that anyone can even pick a favorite at this point, when we haven't seen the characters in play . . . or is there some information about the characters that I'm unaware of?

I've been to Perth--my ship stopped there while I was in the Navy. Lovely city; felt like a big college town in good ways. However, I was there in the winter, and that makes me damn glad I don't have to live there in the summer!

Having gotten my plot handed to me by Crispyruffles yesterday, it's become clear that my most outstanding flaw is that I don't remember to block.

My hope is that I get an enjoyable new hobby that comes with a community of new friends. My fear is that I'll never have the skill needed to enjoy participating in the game.
